Nail Art Know How: Making Waves
Welcome to #ManiMonday, a video series in which we show you how to create original nail art designs from a new pro every month.
We've always been for "making waves" in a metaphorical sense, but after catching a glimpse of this chic mani—designed by nail pro Jessica Washick—we support the literal interpretation, too.
To get the look, start with clear base before painting on two coats of Londontown's pinky-nude "Full Monty" polish ($16; londontownusa.com). Allow the layer to dry completely.
Next, use a striper brush dipped in Ginger + Liz's bright-blue "Chase Me" polish ($12; gingerandliz.com) to create a wavy line two-thirds from the base of the nail. Add multiple coats to increase the thickness.
Then, use a fresh striper brush dipped in Floss Gloss' "Black Holy" nail polish ($8; flossgloss.com) to fill in the space between the line you just created and the tip of the nail.
Finish with clear top coat, et voilà—you've made waves in five minutes flat.
