If you've ever attempted to copy Jennifer Lopez's coveted signature glow only to end up with cakey splotches of orange bronzer all over your face, you're not alone. Those natural, lit-from-within beauty looks are some of the most difficult to recreate. Luckily, this breakdown from celebrity makeup artist Vincent Oquendo clears up all the confusion — and yes, the solution involves eyedrops.

Oquendo recommends starting off by using eye drops to remove any redness from the eyes and draw attention to the skin. Then, he says to preps and prime the skin, and fill in the brows. Next, curl your eyelashes and brighten your waterline with a cream-colored eyeliner.

When it's time to contour, Oquendo prefers starting with a cream-based product. "You want to build depth, and the only way to build depth is to use multiple textures," he says. Powder is then applied over the cream contour to set it in place. Oquendo recommends finishing the cheekbones off with a light dusting of highlighter over the cheekbones.

To balance out the glowiness of the skin, Oquendo says to go back to the eyes and apply a powder highlighter, like Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter, to the crease. Then, apply and blend a cream-based eyeliner, like Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon Eyeliner, to the lash line. Dab a gold highlighter in the inner corners of your eyes using a brush, and then gently sweep a gold-colored eyeshadow over the entire lid. Finally, apply a few coats of a lengthening and volumizing mascara.

Finish off the entire look with a light dusting of pressed powder to keep everything in place and a swipe of cream lipstick or lip balm. You can check out the makeup artist's tutorial in its entirety by hitting play on the video above.
