The new hue heralds new music.

Pop star Dua Lipa just went blonde for a sleek new fall look.

The "New Rules" singer debuted a drastic color change on Instagram on October 1, sharing a set of snaps that show off a warm, rose gold blonde tone that's much different than what we've come to expect from her.

Dua is known for her signature brunette look, aside from going blonde for her appearance in a Silk City music video. But while she donned a wig for that role, this is a real hair transformation that heralds a "new era," likely meaning Dua is matching her new look to a new album on the way.

"A new era! Thank you for your patience. See you soon," she captioned her photos along with the hashtag #DL2, obviously for "Dua Lipa 2," her new album that looks like it could be coming soon. That isn't the final title or anything, and there are virtually zero details surrounding the album, which Billboard reports has been in the works for a few months now. But it looks like the singer may finally be ready to share some info.

Typically, pop stars end up debuting style overhauls (and new hairstyles and colors) when it's time for a new "era" of music, as well as new albums. So it makes total sense to see this change emerging alongside new music from the songstress.

Dua Lipa is already a powerful force in the fashion world, and was selected earlier this year in June to be the face of YSL Beauté's fragrance, the recently-released Libre.

"I connect so much with the campaign because of its fearlessness,” Lipa said then in a statement. “I stand for the importance of being confident, strong and powerful, and of not compromising on who you are, what you do and what you believe in, of always being proud of the things you do, and I feel that goes down very well with the same philosophy behind Yves Saint Laurent’s new fragrance."

With the countdown to Dua's new album officially underway, we can't wait to see what kind of looks she's about to serve. This fresh new blonde is only a small clue, and if her style is indicative of how the music will sound, we could be in for a wild ride.
