In some unsurprising news, natural, effortless-looking bridal makeup looks are trending hard this year on Pinterest. It makes sense. Recognizing your face in your own wedding album fives years down the line seems like a relatively reasonable desire, and why should you look like anyone else but you on your wedding day? If this type of beauty moment is the type you want at the altar, celebrity makeup artist Daniel Martin has your back. After all, he's the man behind Meghan Markle's gorgeous and simplistic wedding day makeup look.  Martin, who also serves as Honest Beauty's Creative Color Consultant, came to InStyle HQ and created a pretty summer bridal makeup tutorial that anyone do themselves, no pro makeup artist required.

The first step—after prepping and moisturizing the skin—is a little unexpected. Instead of starting with complexion makeup like foundation and concealer, Martin begins by creating a subtle chocolate smoky eye by layering on shades from Honest Beauty's 10-shade palette. This switch in steps eliminates having to clean up shadow or glitter fallout on fresh foundation. Then, Martin moves onto foundation and concealer.

He says one of the biggest mistakes brides make on their wedding day is loading on too much product (uhhh, the recipe for cakey-looking cheeks) so he suggests keeping it light on the complexion products.

After a little Honest Beauty Crème Cheek Blush in Rose Pink on the apples of the cheeks, Martin goes back and finishes up the smoky eye to make sure the look is balanced. He fills in sparse spots within the brows with a neutral shadow, and applies Honest Beauty Extreme Length Mascara + Lash Primer, wiggling the formula at the root of the lash to lengthen the eyelashes.

The final step? Skip the red lipstick and go with a simple pink—Martin said "I do" to the Honest Beauty Lip Crayon Demi-Matte in Fig

Now, back to that wedding hashtag...
