The upside to shopping online is that you don’t have to deal with any human interaction at all, but the downside is that sometimes—especially when it comes to extra personal products like cosmetics—we have questions or need advice. Luckily, Sephora is about to change their online shopping process entirely with the addition of a new digital community platform for Beauty Insiders, members of the company’s rewards program.

The feature, called the Community page, is live on Sephora’s site now and comes with lots of amazing benefits. You can join groups with people who share your beauty interests, ask questions about products, post answers to questions from others, upload and browse photos for inspiration, and get advice from other beauty lovers by reading exclusive reviews. With the virtual chatroom, shoppers can have a community of beauty gurus to consult without having to leave their homes.

This new development was driven by the vision of giving Sephora customers deeper personal connections, Mary Beth Laughton, Sephora’s senior vice president of digital, told WWD. “[Our customers] want to be next to people they feel are like them and share their passion for beauty. We know they’re increasingly looking to their peers and people like them and this just plays into that.”

As if this news isn’t exciting enough, the store will be adding even more features to this page on Aug. 22, according to WWD. Of course, to be a part of this online community, you have to be a Sephora Beauty Insider (which is free to join). But considering how much this new feature will improve your online shopping experience, the time you spend signing up just might be worth it.
