Ellen DeGeneres felt she had to up her pranking game for guest Sarah Paulson, which meant bad things for the star of American Horror Story: Cult.
First, DeGeneres spooked Paulson by hiding in her dressing room’s closet and emerging with a creepy sideshow laugh. As they were discussing the scare on stage, the host had one of her assistants sneak up behind Paulson wearing a wig, cape, fedora, and striped socks. But the comedienne was disappointed they didn’t get a good face shot for the cameras.
“What are you gonna do now?” Paulson asked on edge. DeGeneres promised “nothing,” but the actress had a feeling something was about to pop out of the chest by their table. As soon as she mentioned, “That has happened,” a guy dressed as a clown shrieked out of the box and ran off stage.
And there’s the face shot!
