What Really Makes the Stars of Younger Feel Younger
On Younger, Sutton Foster plays a 40-year-old who’s posing as a 26-year-old publishing assistant. Liza has all of her colleagues fooled by her age on the TV Land series—which airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET—and she works hard to avoid blowing her cover while navigating the new world she’s created for herself. Even those who work closest with Liza on a daily basis don’t know her secret, including her twenty-something friends, Kelsey (Hilary Duff) and Lauren (Molly Bernard), as well as her boss, Empirical Publishing’s HBIC, Diana (Miriam Shor).
While Liza may be in her third season of not acting her age, we wanted to know what makes a few of the show’s stars feel younger IRL. So when Duff, Bernard, and Shor recently visited InStyle’s offices, we asked the actresses what truly has them feeling like they’ve hit the refresh button. Scroll down to find out what they said.
Hilary Duff
“The whole cast has a sparkling water addiction, and we’re always drinking sparkling water on set—I don’t think it makes you younger, I think we all just love it,” said Duff, who also credited Visine with helping keep her feeling fresh. “Curling my eyelashes and wanting my eyes to be bright and alert and awake is a good trick for looking younger, and obviously drinking water. And under-eye masks—those things are a dream. Every morning, we pretty much have those on our eyes in the trailer before we go.”

Molly Bernard
“It’s funny, because I’m in my late twenties and I kind of can’t wait to get out of them. I’m really looking forward to being Grandma Molly—at which point I will probably be interested in creams and Botox and things. But I just try to laugh a lot, and I think that keeps you young. If you stay bright, the things that bring joy into your life will keep you young.”

Miriam Shor
“I don’t have anything that makes me feel younger—but if you find it, please send me a gallon or two,” said Shor. “But I actually like wearing my sneakers—that makes me feel young. I walk around in sneaks and carry a backpack—I don’t need the back pain!”
