Chloe x Halle Take Us Behind the Scenes at Essence Festival 2017
It never hurts to have Beyoncé in your corner, but Chloe and Halle Bailey's talent speaks for itself. At the ripe young ages of 19 and 17 respectively, the Atlanta-born sister hip-hop duo, better known by their stage moniker Chloe x Halle, have amassed nearly 800,000 followers on YouTube, sung the National Anthem at the 2017 NFL Draft, and opened for Michelle Obama at the White House Easter Egg Roll ... all before graduating high school.
This past weekend, for the second time, the insanely talented teens hit the Essence Festival in New Orleans, where they performed alongside Mary J. Blige, Chance the Rapper, and Solange. Here, Chloe x Halle takes us behind-the-scenes during the day of their set on Sunday.
"We had so much fun joining PJ Morton of Maroon 5 for a surprise performance at his famed Soundbytes jam session at the Ace Hotel. What a great way to kick off Essence Festival weekend."
"Halle and I went to visit Beyoncé's Essence Festival installation 'Beygood 4 Burundi' at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center to learn about the water crisis in the East African country of Burundi. It was incredibly moving."
"We met the sweetest little angels at the exhibit."

ON THE MOVE
"Arriving to the Superdome for our performance at the Essence Fest with our little brother, Branson! We were getting so excited. "
"Here Chloe is being goofy as usual before our Essence Festival soundcheck."
"In this moment, I was getting ready to blow out the candles on my cake at my 19th birthday dinner, which was inspired by our family dog, Common. I couldn't stop laughing. It was the cutest thing ever."
"Performing makes our souls come alive. We were so happy to share our passion on that stage in front of so many beautiful people."
