Twitter Is Obsessed With Billie Eilish's New "Your Power" Music Video
She directed it, too.
Earlier this week, Billie Eilish let fans know that she'd be releasing the follow-up to her Grammy-winning debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? Today, she dropped the first music video from the new release, "Your Power." It's a quiet, acoustic guitar-led track that's a few steps back from some of the more baroque tracks that fans know her for, but the shift (which also coincides with Eilish's new blonde ambition era), but fans are latching onto the song's message and the video's visuals.
Pitchfork reports that the clip was filmed in California's Simi Valley and that Eilish's snake co-star is an anaconda.
In a message accompanying the release, Eilish explained that the new track is one of her favorites and urged her fans to "try not to abuse your power." Listeners will have to wait until the release of Happier Than Ever to see if there's more to that cryptic message. The album is set to be released on July 30.
"this is one of my favorite songs i've ever written," she wrote a statement (all lowercase) accompanying the song. "i feel very vulnerable putting this one out because i hold it so close to my heart. this is about many different situations that we've all either witnessed or experienced. i hope this can inspire change. try not to abuse your power."
