In the spirit of closing 2016 on a high note, our editorscompiled 36 of the best holiday carols we’ve heard this season into one nifty Spotify playlist. From covers of classics like “Little Drummer Boy” by Jennifer Nettles featuring Idina Menzel to new music like “Present Without a Bow” by Kacey Musgraves featuring Leon Bridges, our list has everything you need to revamp your holiday listening.

A cappella groups made a strong case for our top hits this year with Pentatonix’s “The Christmas Sing-Along” and Straight No Chaser’s “Feels Like Christmas” featuring One Tree Hill’s Jana Kramer. The all-male a cappella group also gave us the unconventional “To Christmas! (The Drinking Song),” which is the perfect choice for singing along to something new.

You'll also notice a few genre-bending original tracks speckling our list, like R. Kelly’s “Home For Christmas.” “I love Christmas music just as much as the next person, but hearing the same songs repeated over and over for weeks on end can drive me borderline insane,” said associate editor Claire Stern. “That’s why I was jazzed when R. Kelly added an original compilation to the mix. It’s smooth, inherently sexy, and there’s nothing traditional about it.”

We also included incredible covers of Joni Mitchell’s “River” by Tall Heights, “Let It Snow” by Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, and my personal favorite “Only You” by Kylie Minogue featuring James Corden. That’s right—Carpool Karaoke and The Late Late Show with James Corden’s titular host has produced a lovely holiday duet just in time for your next secret Santa swap. Enjoy, and happy holidays from all of us at InStyle.
