The BLACKPINK Movie Is a Thank You To All the Blinks

It's been five years since the band made its debut.

They were a hit from the very beginning. BLACKPINK's very first song debuted at the top of every chart in South Korea within four hours. From there, it's only been getting bigger and better. To celebrate, the supergroup is releasing a new film, BLACKPINK THE MOVIE, to commemorate five years in the business and thank the Blinks from around the world for their support.

Hitting theaters on August 4 and 8, the film offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse at Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa on and off the stage. According to a press release, the movie will include "diverse sequences focused on each member of BLACKPINK." Those special segments include "The Room of Memories," which is described as "a segment looking back on five years of memories since BLACKPINK's debut" and "Beauty," which promises to give fans an in-depth look at all four members and their distinct characteristics. What could be the most exciting part for fans is the "Exclusive Interviews" section of the movie, which is a special message for Blinks, who have supported the group since day one.

The film also includes special performances from BLACKPINK's tours, THE SHOW and IN YOUR AREA. For fans that haven't had the chance to meet the group up close, the movie's creators hope to offer that experience through film — and with a release that spans more than 100 countries and territories, almost the entire world can get in on the action.

The movie comes after BLACKPINK's Netflix documentary, Light Up the Sky. For a full list of theaters showing BLACKPINK THE MOVIE, visit www.blackpinkthemovie.com.
