In Harris's first sit-down interview since the results of the election, she discussed her historic win, and weighed in on the WSJ piece in which the writer urged Dr. Biden to drop her "Dr." title, for some reason. "I was deeply disappointed that in 2020, that kind of approach would be given any legitimacy," Harris told Good Morning America's Robin Roberts. "Let's be clear about it. She worked hard, She raised her kids. She went to night school. She got degrees. She earned everything she has. That is the American way, that is the American spirit." After the WSJ piece went viral for all the wrong reasons as people called it out for being sexist, Dr. Biden herself appeared to comment by simply tweeting, "Together, we will build a world where the accomplishments of our daughters will be celebrated, rather than diminished." Dr. Jill Biden Appeared to Respond to Divisive Op-Ed Disparaging Her "Dr." Title Michelle Obama also defended Dr. Biden, sharing an Instagram photo of the two of them and writing, in part, "right now, we're all seeing what also happens to so many professional women, whether their titles are Dr., Ms., Mrs., or even First Lady: All too often, our accomplishments are met with skepticism, even derision." "Is this really the example we want to set for the next generation?" she added. "Dr. Biden gives us a better example. And this is why I feel so strongly that we could not ask for a better First Lady."
