John Legend, Kerry Washington, and Others Set to Appear in Inauguration Special

They'll join a long list of performers that includes Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake, and more.

It wouldn't be an inauguration without performances from some of the biggest names in the music industry (though it should be noted, some president-elects have struggled with the task … ).

Due to the pandemic, Joe Biden's inauguration will look different than years past. A special called Celebrating America will be broadcast on inauguration day, Jan. 20, and, as with anything worth watching in modern America, it will be hosted by Tom Hanks.

The 90-minute program, which is set to air on ABC, NBC, CBS, MSCNBC, CNN, and is expected to be available on several streaming platforms, will include performances from Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake, Jon Bon Jovi, Ant Clemons, John Legend, the Foo Fighters, and Bruce Springsteen. According to People, Kerry Washington and Eva Longoria will pop up during the special to introduce different performers and segments.

E! News revealed that Jenny from the Block was added to the slate of performers, and we must say, Biden has great taste. Wonder if we'll be seeing a Super Bowl-esque performance from J.Lo (Did that iconic performance seriously happen a year ago?!)

Lady Gaga is also set to sing the National Anthem — a performance that won't likely be forgettable. Throughout Biden's campaign, Gaga has been quite vocal about her support for the President-elect. She even joined him on the campaign trail in Pittsburgh, Pa. to perform and show her support the day before the election.

Donald Trump's inauguration featured a decidedly less impressive slate of performers, including 3 Doors Down. Barack Obama, however, set the bar high for incoming administrations. His second inauguration was celebrated with performances from Beyoncé, Kelly Clarkson, and James Taylor.
