And because the American Rescue Plan Act encompasses so much more than the checks, she talked about the extension of unemployment insurance payments, COVID-related funeral reimbursements from FEMA, assistance for bars and restaurants, and hinted at some progress for student loan forgiveness. "Did we get what we wanted? Absolutely not," she said, referencing things like the $15 minimum wage. "But did we get things that are gonna change people's lives? Absolutely yes."
