Zoe Saldana Muses On Fashion Regrets and Leaving Her "Baby Cave" for the Oscars This Weekend
New mom Zoe Saldana was positively glowing at Alfre Woodard's Oscar's Sistahs Soiree in Beverly Hills, Calif., last night, where she stunned in a ruffled blue Lanvin frock that was belted at the waist and styled with a black clutch, printed Kurt Geiger pumps, and a bold red lip. At the event, she dished about what it's like to dress for the red carpet just a few months after giving birth to twins.
"When you have just had babies, two babies, you sort of let go and you're not as demanding when it comes to fashion," Saldana tells InStyle. "You ask yourself, ‘What is very flattering as my body is sort of getting itself together again?'"
Saldana also revealed that she is feeling good about her look for the Oscars this Sunday, and doubts she’ll face any dress regrets. "I love everything I wear," she says. "I am a person that regrets very little, if anything, because I go full on, head and heart open and I think I make decisions in a very sober way. Therefore I'm happy with my results." And having stylist Petra Flannery behind her also helps: "She thinks these things through with me and for me, and she is a true artist. By the time I get to wear something down the red carpet, we have put it together, we have tweaked it, and it's perfect."
While the star is set to present at the Academy Awards, she's actually looking at the event as more of a date night. "I'm so excited to present—my husband and I are very excited to actually be going out after three months in our baby cave. This is a rare occasion for us," Saldana says. "I'm pretty sure as soon as we go and I present, we're going to be anxious to get home, to see what the babies are up to. We're going to force ourselves to stay out because we have a great team of people that will be looking after them. It's a great night to be out, so we want to try and enjoy it."
