Zoe Saldana, Kate Beckinsale And Over 600 Guests Celebrated Martin Scorsese At LACMA's Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles
When you have an evening set to honor Academy Award-winning director Martin Scorsese and artist David Hockney, the stars are sure to come out in glamorous style! More than 600 guests attended Los Angeles County Museum of Art's (LACMA) third annual Art+Film Gala presented by Gucci, including Scorsese's friend and co-chair of the gala Leonardo DiCaprio, Zoe Saldana, Kate Beckinsale, Olivia Wilde with fiancé Jason Sudeikis, Kate Hudson, Fergie and husband Josh Duhamel. The stars shined on the red carpet which was fittingly set beside LACMA's infamous lamp post installation "Urban Light," made up of over 100 restored street lamps from the 1920s and 1930s, where they also reminisced about their most memorable Scorsese movie moments with InStyle.com. "I think it was a scene he did in Taxi Driver, when he's sitting in the back of the taxi cab," Saldana said of the director's cameo in his own 1976 film starring Robert De Niro. Scorsese played a jilted husband waiting outside of his wife's lover's apartment building -- holding a loaded gun. "I remember watching that as a little girl and being petrified at the idea of cheating." For other celebrities like Beckinsale, it was moments that she herself shared with the famed director, "I’d have to say The Aviator because I was there. I got to play Ava Gardner and really just being there for it," she said to InStyle.com. The evening also raised a record breaking $4.1 million whose proceeds will support LACMA's film initiatives and future projects. The evening was topped off with a special performance by Sting, who was accompanied by an eighteen-piece band -- now that's what we call a glamorous evening.
