Zac Posen’s debuting a new line of bridal jewelry and it’s got us saying yes, yes, YES. The designer and Project Runway judge teamed up with the diamond experts at Blue Nile to create the collection of engagement rings and wedding bands. He’s calling the line Truly Zac Posen, a clear extension of his bridal dress and eveningwear line for David’s Bridal that goes by the same name.
Posen gave InStyle.com a special sneak peek of the baubles, all designed with fair-trade diamonds, which debut online at bluenile.com today. “Designing jewelry is like designing a gown,” he told us over the phone this morning. “You’re dealing with an object on the human body, so you have to still consider function, form, and proportion.”
As a jewelry lover—Posen visits new and antique jewelry boutiques on Madison and Fifth Avenues monthly—he decided to break down his collection into three different styles: Glamour (very classic, Hollywood-inspired), Deco (architectural and geometric), and Metropolitan (upscale and modern). “My feeling was to create a collection for a lot of different kinds of women,” he explained. “I really believe great design should feel personal and timeless, which is why I created glamorous pieces for all the future brides out there.”
But what's really going to have you falling in love? The prices. The collection starts at $980 per setting. “Beauty should be accessible,” said Posen. “It was very important that as we developed the Truly Zac Posen brand, the price points all make sense with each other. To me, these rings are a steal, even if you’re already married!”
