This jewel, named The Sun-Drop Diamond of South Africa, sold for more than $10.9 million at an auction in Geneva yesterday, USA Today reports. The stone is a pear-shaped yellow diamond, has the highest color grading, and weighs 110.3 carats (that's like Kim Kardashian's ring times five). Including commission, the bidder—who has not been identified and placed their order over the phone—paid almost $12.4 million for the gem, which is a record-setting number for a yellow diamond at an auction.
