"You've put a lot of effort into that," Rita Ora says, nodding to the barman at London's Electric House, as he slides her an espresso martini. He might have responded in kind—in the past 72 hours, the 24-year-old singer and actress has flown from Morocco to Abu Dhabi to L.A. to promote both her sophomore album and her breakout role in the hotly anticipated Fifty Shades of Grey. "These have been the hardest few days ever," she says, though she looks impeccable.
Ora has matured from her devil-may-care early days, singing at her father's London pub. "I used to sleep with my makeup on," she admits. "But now I take really good care of myself." Her self-possession is evident in stunning red- carpet looks, a line of sneakers for Adidas Originals, and her new record, which mines her very public breakup with British DJ Calvin Harris. "I'm a sucker for love," she explains, sipping the last of her cocktail. "That's how I can be so personal in my music."
Ora slips away from the bar. It's her birthday. First, dinner with her dad; then, a party with Kate Moss. Yup, that's how she rolls.
In InStyle’s March 2015 issue, Ora stands out in the best of this season's fun, flirty florals. Go behind the scenes at the photo shoot:
