Why Did Betsey Johnson Make a Barbie Hat?
Betsey Johnson designed some Mad-Hatter-worthy toppers for the Kentucky Derby, and two are being auctioned off for charity! The hats will be unveiled at the Kentucky Derby on May 6th and 7th, and Johnson, a breast cancer survivor, is donating the proceeds to The National Breast Cancer Coalition andGilda's Club of Louisville. One of the hats up for grabs is the Barbie Hat, pictured, which Johnson says is “so much fun.” It will be auctioned off at Gilda's Club. The other hat, a Rose Hat, includes “whimsical looking spiders and bugs” Johnson told WWD, and will be auctioned from April 26th to May 7th at BiddingforGood.com. Exact rules have not been finalized for either sale, but check the sites closer to Derby Day. Happy bidding!
