All across Los Angeles, you’ll spot coffee cup sleeves with the priority-affirming message, “But first, coffee.” That’s because Alfred Coffee & Kitchen, with its ever-changing and always-adorable sleeves, has officially taken over as Angelenos’ fave place to grab a cup of joe. Its not just any cup though—Alfred exclusively brews Stumptown beans, one of our favorites. Order the cold brew for a quick pick-me-up or make like a local and ask for the Health-Ade Kombucha on tap. The rotating pastries from Farmshop are worth the extra calories too—we promise you won’t regret it (hello, chocolate croissant).

Alfred's original location, tucked away on Melrose Place, is always packed with patrons vying for a coveted patio seat. Inside, its black-painted walls exude a cool Hollywood vibe and there’s even a Compartés Chocolatier in the back. Alfred has since opened in Brentwood and Silver Lake, with Studio City coming soon. The new locations each have their own personality—Brentwood’s blue tiled-walls and floral ceiling are feminine-chic, while Silver Lake is cheeky with a mural of mustaches.

Plus, the coffeehouse’s next venture, Alfred Tea Room, is set to open on Melrose Place in April, right down the street from the original shop. Follow the tea room’s pink-hued Instagram feed (@alfredtea) for a peek at what’s to come.
