What's Shakira’s #1 Beauty Tip?

The sultry singer just released her tenth studio album yesterday, her new music video, “Can’t Remember to Forget You” with Rihanna has been burning up on Vevo and she’s a guest judge on The Voice this season. Even with so much going on, Shakira always manages to look flawless, so we sat down with the multi-tasking globe trotter and drilled her for a few of her beauty tricks. Here's the scoop:

Your skin always look perfect, what’s your secret?

A good way to prep your skin is to use a vitamin C serum, it does wonders -- especially when my skin gets dehydrated. If I’m super dry, I also layer on vitamin E -- I just get capsules from the pharmacy and squeeze it right onto my skin. I also think its really important to remove your makeup every night and I using a cleansing brush (or even a washcloth) to remove any impurities.

We heard that you do your own makeup usually- impressive! What tricks have you picked up?

Keep it simple. I usually wear a natural color on my lips and accent my eyes. I feel like the less makeup I use, the better I look. After so many years in front of the camera, sometimes, I think I look better now than 10 years ago when I wore so much! It’s important to let your own skin shine through.

What’s your best beauty tip?

Wear sunscreen and smile! A good smile shows off confidence and that’s really the best makeup. I take good care of my teeth and when I knew the campaign with Crest 3D White (Shakira is a spokeswoman for the brand) was around smiling and promoting smiling, I thought it was the perfect fit- it really goes with my life philosophy. I’m such a smiler that sometimes photographers have to ask me to stop and give more a serious or sexy look!
