What the Winners Wore: 21 Years of Best Actress Dresses
Competition is fierce this year. At this Sunday's 87th Academy Awards, we have five strong contenders for the Best Actress category: Marion Cotillard for Two Days, One Night, Felicity Jones for The Theory of Everything. Julianne Moore for Still Alice, Rosamund Pike for Gone Girl, and Reese Witherspoon for Wild. We can't wait to find out who will win, but more importantly, we can't wait to find out who will wear what. So in honor of their big night (and for inspo, perhaps?), we rounded up all the winning Best Actress looks from the past 21 years.
Last year, Cate Blanchett accepted her statuette for her performance in Blue Jasmine in an ethereal nude Armani Prive creation with all-over delicate floral appliques. Three years prior, then-expectant mom and Black Swan star Natalie Portman was positively radiant in a winning off-the-shoulder violet silk chiffon Rodarte gown. And previous Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon went vintage in 2006, accepting her award for her work in Walk the Line in a beautiful beaded 1955 Christian Dior v-neck gown.
Thumb through the line-up of all the triumphant dresses from Oscars past, ahead.
