No, we're not talking about the Golden Globes (though we're excited about that too!) -- we're counting down until the start of the 15th Annual InStyle and Warner Bros. Golden Globes after-party, which is always one of the hottest tickets in town. After all, a party isn’t a party without sharkskin booths to sit in, stunning chandeliers hung with thousands of gold metal strands to dazzle the room while you sip champagne, and stainless steel gorilla cages suspended from the ceiling with 50,000 hand-tied crystals, right? According to mastermind event designer Thomas Ford, no! Which is why we're so fortunate to have him at the helm each year for our annual bash. The famed event planner creates the stunning décor inside our fête each year (and he's no novice -- he’s been transforming our annual bash since 2002). From elaborate tenting to jaw-dropping light installations, we’re taking you inside our past parties, where Hollywood’s elite (including Jessica Alba, Bradley Cooper, and Emma Stone) head after the ceremony. “I always try to do something that I’m a little afraid of, so that until the last moment I don’t know if its going to work,” Ford tells InStyle.com of how he decides on each years’ room inspiration. “It’s either going to be brilliant or a disaster -- hopefully brilliant!” Where does he begin the brainstorming process? First and foremost, he consults the color wheel. “Just like in fashion, you can get a sense of what colors are going to be trending," he tells us, hinting at the magnificent creation that's currently being constructed for this Sunday's event. "This is a big year for [the color] yellow, and blue is always a winner.” From previous parties (he’s done everything from encrusting flamingo statuettes with Swarovski crystals, to hanging gold mirrored chains from the ceiling), here’s a look back at the outrageously beautiful interiors. Plus, stay tuned to get a peek inside this year's bash on Sunday, January 12. We have a feeling Ford won't disappoint!
