Petite and blue-hued Williamsburg shop Catbird has been selling sweetly modern jewelry from emerging talent like Satomi Kawakita and Lauren Wolf for nearly a decade. The shop, which is named after an actual bird species whose chirp sounds like a cat, has become a mecca of sorts for its inventory of gold thick and thin, hammered and twisted, stackable or solo knuckle rings (Lena Dunham, Zoe Kravitz, Chanel Iman are all fans.) Also popular are the store's cat goods, including vermeil cat studs and gold rings with cats outlined in the design.

The feline pieces became so popular that last year owner Rony Vardi created a separate spot on the store’s web site just to highlight them. "We are constantly inspired by our feline companions and their easy yet mysterious and sexy ways," says Vardi, who is currently between cats but had a Maine Coon Cat named Louis who she says was fluffy and mean. The site's vertical, the Cat Pack, houses a curated selection of the kitty jewelry plus their top selling Cat Eye Mask and lots of feline-themed cards. Some of the more covetable pieces include the Lovecat rings as well as the Kitten Mitten, a delicate finger-to-wrist chain that Alexa Chung received as a birthday pressie from her publicist. We can’t wait to get our paws on one too!
