On Welcome Back Wednesday we celebrate the return of a beloved pop culture player who’s been off the radar for a while. Where’d they go? It doesn’t matter! We’re just glad they’re back.

It seems like just yesterday that we saw Lindsay Weir sulk around the halls of McKinley High School in her dad’s old army jacket. News flash: The beloved albeit short-lived series Freaks and Geeks last aired 17 years ago. Since her memorable turn as the prototypical angst-ridden teenager, Linda Cardellini has had minor stints onscreen, most notably in the Scooby-Doo films, Legally Blonde, and a cameo as one of Don Draper’s illicit love interests on Mad Men.

Now, she’s taking on a more meaty role—no pun intended—in The Founder, a new film about Ray Kroc, the salesman who helped transform McDonald’s into one of the biggest fast food chains in the world. Cardellini stars alongside Michael Keaton as Joan Kroc, Ray’s third wife, with whom he engaged in a secret affair and later went on to inherit his massive fortune. Sounds like a step up from Daniel Desario if you ask us. Welcome back, Linda Cardellini!

The Founder is in theaters now.
