Ah, Chuck Bass. Gossip Girl’s hedonistic anti-hero with a penchant for scarves is arguably one of the greatest characters in the history of television. When he gave Blair her dream prom even though she wasn’t his date, our hearts fluttered. When he was unceremoniously shot outside a brothel in Prague, a part of us died inside. Even though Ed Westwick’s flawless portrayal of the Upper East Side bad boy has rendered it nearly impossible for us to see him as anyone else, the British actor drives a hard bargain in his latest role.

In the upcoming thriller The Crash, he plays Ben Collins, a hacker enlisted by the United States government to help resolve a vicious cyber-attack that could potentially bankrupt the entire country (paging Mr. Robot fans). Westwick stars alongside Minnie Driver, Dianna Agron, and AnnaSophia Robb. From the looks of the trailer, he gets pretty riled up in the midst of all the financial chaos, despite the fact that his Gossip Girl alter-ego would’ve solved the problem with a quick speed dial to his P.I. Welcome back, Ed Westwick!

The Crash is in theaters and on demand Friday, Jan. 13.
