Look for it on What’s Right Now every Friday. The Moment: Tonight, dreams come true in Hollywood when Tom Ford brings his fall 2015 runway show to Los Angeles for an event that just might rival the Oscars for fabulousness. After showing in London for several years, Ford decided, why not bring the collection to L.A., since so many of his clients are there and in need of his services? In fact, the red carpet has served as a runway for Ford for years, from his days at Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent through today with his signature label’s killer style. So in honor of Ford’s big night, let’s review a four of his greatest hits from the Academy Awards. Meet Alessandro Michele, the New Man Behind Gucci Why It’s a Wow: The No. 1 best look of the 2012 Oscars in my book was Gwyneth Paltrow in this amazing white cape and gown pictured above, which was one of the cleanest looks Ford’s ever shown, with just a hint of classic Hollywood thrown in. With this look, Paltrow paved the way for capes on the red carpet. Often cited as one of the best Oscars dresses of all time, Charlize Theron (pictured below) channeled 1930s glamour in this fabulous gown in 2004, from Ford’s final collection for Gucci, with the perfect combination of accessories (Chopard’s drops with 46 diamonds), and hair and makeup, too. KMazur/WireImage Julianne Moore (pictured below) wore Ford’s emerald strapless gown for Yves Saint Laurent, with a cascade of ruffles in 2003, creating a perfect image from head to toe. The duo have formed a perfect designer-muse partnership ever since, and should she choose Ford once again for Sunday’s big event, the results are bound to be spectacular.
