There's Now a Virtual Program to Help Black Women Navigate Their Natural Hair Journey at Home
This is the perfect time to explore your unique texture.
Learning about your own natural texture was hard enough when life was "normal." But with stay-at-home orders still in place in many states across the country, those just getting started on this journey may be having some extra trouble figuring things out without the help of their trusted stylist.
Thankfully, Unilever brands Dove, Suave, and SheaMoisture have teamed up to create #WashDayLive, a virtual four-week series to offer expert haircare tips to anyone who may need a little help through 30-minute Instagram Live sessions.
On May 20 at 7 p.m. ET, Stephen and Kia will kick things off by using products from Dove's Amplified Textures line to help new naturals navigate their texture. Then on May 24 at 6 p.m. ET, Stephen will be doing another workshop alongside Nella.
"I'm such a lucky girl!" Stephen shares on Instagram to break the news. "@thenotoriouskia and I have partnered with @dove to bring you #WashDayLive...that’s right! We know that wash days can be a bit difficult, especially for the new naturalista! Tune in to receive some helpful tips and tricks 5/20 @7pm ET."
For week two, SheaMoisture will take over to focus on styling, while in week three Suave professionals will teach classes on refreshing and maintaining textured hair.
In week four, Dove and SheaMoisture will partner to share the best tips for continuing your natural hair journey.

For those who are looking for a more personalized experience, the Swivel beauty app is offering free virtual 1:1 #WashDayLive appointments until June 15 — and people are running, not walking, to take advantage of the deal.
Over 120 appointments were booked on Swivel within the first 24 hours, which means more and more women are excited to learn about their natural texture. And we love to see it.
