Viola Davis Makes Her Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony an Adorable Family Affair
And the first Hollywood Walk of Fame star of 2017 goes to... Viola Davis.
The actress was honored with the plaque while surrounded by her husband Julius Tennon and their daughter Genesis Tennon this morning in Los Angeles, where Meryl Streep was also on-hand to assist in presenting her the award. Streep is a longtime friend of the talented star—the pair co-starred in the 2008 drama Doubt, which brought Davis her first Oscar nomination. Her second came for her captivating performance in the 2011 film The Help.
But her Academy Award noms are far from her only accomplishments in the world of acting. Davis was the first black woman to win the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2015 for her starring role in How To Get Away with Murder, has won two Tony Awards for her Broadway performances in "Fences" and "King Hedley II," and has racked up multiple Critics' Choice Awards, SAG Awards, and People's Choice Awards.

Congrats to Davis on this well-deserved honor.
