It’s been almost three years since Paul Walker’s tragic death in November 2013, and Fast & Furious co-star Vin Diesel misses his friend every day. The Fast 8 star took to Instagram Thursday to share an emotional video, where he spoke about his son asking for Walker to attend his birthday party.

In the clip, part of a weekly series which Diesel dubs “xXx Thursdays” after his upcoming movie, xXx: Return of Xander Cage, the actor said that Walker made an impression on his son Vincent, even when he was just two years old. “I wanted to share something with you. My son, earlier this morning we were going over his birthday list, and he said, ‘I want Paul to come.’ And then he said, ‘I really miss him.’ Paul came to his second birthday in London while we were shooting Fast 6.

The heartbroken star has honored Walker’s memory in more ways than one: He named his second daughter Pauline after the late actor. Diesel recently posted a father-daughter photo to Instagram, with a Photoshopped image of Walker looking over them. "Always..." he wrote.

We’re sending our thoughts to this emotional star and his family.
