At the British Fashion Awards, the star picked up honors for Brand of the Year, and worked a winning low-key updo to boot. Rather than starting with damp strands, Beckham's hairstylist Ken Paves worked with already-dry layers---perfect for those days we just don't have the time to lather up, and serving up a chic, more-polished alternative to the traditional ponytail we'd rock a few days into our blowout. Recreate Victoria Beckham's Soft Retro Wave Begin by spritzing a volumizer on your roots to mid-lengths. Paves used the Volumizing Spray from his upcoming You Are Beautiful hair line ($14;walmart.com starting Dec. 17), then used a blow-dryer to add body and texture. He then swept her hair into a low ponytail, and secured it with an elastic hair tie. Take the length and wrap it around the base of the style, then anchor it into place with a few hair pins. Don't worry if a few wisps fall out as you're doing this, the effortless, wind-swept tendrils add to the appeal. Finish by misting on a flexible-hold hairspray to keep the look from appearing too stiff. PHOTOS: 13 Products You Need for a Shatter-Proof Hairstyle
