Victoria Beckham Is Hanging Up Her Heels for Flats

Victoria Beckham is coming back down to earth: The former Spice Girl, who made headlines in 2008 for declaring she simply couldn’t “concentrate” in flats, revealed that she's ditching her sky-high heels and touching down in flats much more often these days. “I just can’t do heels anymore,” she said in an interview with the U.K.'s Telegraph this week. “At least not when I’m working.”

Not a small statement for the glamorous fashion fixture, who up until recently, would never be photographed in public without an extra boost from her towering heels, and who famously said she would love go to the gym, if only it wasn’t for the flat footwear.

Beckham made her transition from flats to pumps known during her fall 2016 fashion show, when she came out to take a bow wearing white lace-up sneakers.

“I think people saw the real me when I came out [at the end of her Victoria Beckham show in New York] in a pair of men’s trousers, a roll-neck and trainers,” she told the Telegraph.

While a more relaxed Posh will take some getting used to, this particular fashion evolution seems to complement the easier vibe of the 41-year-old’s more recent collections. These days, she says, her designs are “all about making getting dressed easy.”
