“They’re ridiculous!” Vanessa Hudgens told of her extra-long acrylic nails (we snapped this pic, inset) at the after-party celebrating the completion of the 12th annual 24 Hour Plays on Broadway, a theater experience presented by Montblanc in which six short plays are written, rehearsed, and performed in a 24-hour time period, all to benefit the Urban Arts Partnership. Her wild talons actually helped her character—she played a just-out-of-school assistant with a very-green attitude, sharing the stage with Amber Heard, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Maura Tierney, and Anthony Mackie. Hudgens is crafty with nail art—she painted her digits herself: “Me and my little sister got acrylic long nails for Halloween, so they were red,” she explained. “Then I got bored, so I painted them white. Then I got bored of the white, so I got mint and glitter, so now I’m left with Easter eggs! It’s good for now, but they’re going to change soon.” As for the length? “It’s very impractical,” she said. “I could barely button my shirt!” What women do for beauty, eh?
