Vanessa Bryant Shared Another Moving Tribute to Kobe Bryant in Honor of Mamba Day
"Life truly isn’t fair. This is just senseless.”
In honor of Mamba Day, which marks the final NBA game of Kobe Bryant’s career on April 13, 2016, Vanessa Bryant shared another tribute to her late husband. “My husband worked his ass off for 20 years,” Vanessa began in an Instagram caption attached to a video reel of some of her husband’s best moments on the court.
She continued, “He only got to enjoy 3 years and 9 months of retirement. We had 2 more daughters, he won an Oscar, he opened Granity studios, he became a 5x best selling author and coached Gianna’s basketball team in that time. She worked hard and gave her all 7 days a week just like her daddy. I wish I could back to that morning, every day. I wish they had a normal local game on 1/26. Life truly isn’t fair. This is just senseless.”
Nearly three months ago, on Jan. 26, Kobe and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna were killed in a helicopter accident alongside seven other people.
In the days since Kobe and Gianna’s tragic accident, Vanessa has been active in keeping her husband and daughter’s memory alive — sharing photos and videos, fan tributes, and posing with her and Kobe’s three daughters (Natalia, 17, Bianka, 3, and Capri, 9 months) before a mural of the late Bryants.
