Today, the social media powerhouse announced that it will be doing away with the star icon we've become acquainted with over the years in favor of a heart icon or as they're calling them "likes." "We want to make Twitter easier and more rewarding to use, and we know that at times the star could be confusing, especially to newcomers," Twitter product manager Akarshan Kumar wrote on the company's blog. "You might like a lot of things, but not everything can be your favorite. The heart is more expressive, enabling you to convey a range of emotions and easily connect with people." Twitter has already seen the success of liking posts with hearts on Periscope, and through their tests they've found that it resonates better with audiences. Hearts for everyone!
