It's mid-January, and 'tis the season for binge-watching Netflix. And a new study has state-by-state info on the most popular shows in every corner of the nation in 2016.

New Yorkers, ever loyal to their hometown, have been feasting their eyes on the 1970s hip hop drama The Get Down (starring one of our favorite rising stars, Herizen Guardiola), though Marvel shows Daredevil and Jessica Jones took first and second place for most-watched nationwide.

Pablo Escobar melodrama Narcos reigned in California, while Floridians were partial to the dark, Sissy Spacek-led family drama Bloodline, which is set in the Keys.

What does it all mean? Not shockingly, viewers tended to prefer shows set near where they live. (Political thriller House of Cards won for most popular in DC, for example; click here for the full list.)

With so many shows and so little time, never has Netflix and chill felt so appropriate.
