News Today is Forest Day! Shop Anne Fontaine's Sustainable Bracelets To Help Restore Brazil's Forests By Josephine Cusumano Published on November 7, 2013 Pin Share Tweet Email Photo: Courtesy Photo Want to help save a forest today? In honor of the third annual Forest Day, designer Anne Fontaine launched new sustainable bracelets—crafted with natural European leather, nickel-free charms, vegetal tanning and dye—in support of her nonprofit organization, the Anne Fontaine Foundation, which helps with the reforestation and protection of the Atlantic Rainforest in Brazil (also known as the Mata Atlantica) and encourages environmental awareness in hopes of restoring depleted forests. With the purchase of just one bracelet ($35), seven trees will be planted and today, 50% of all global sales from Fontaine's boutiques will benefit the cause. "Every day, an area larger than New York City is lost to deforestation and I created Forest Day in order to take action against such a disaster,” the designer said in a statement. To help make your mark in keeping forests alive, shop at one of Fontaine's retail stores or purchase her bracelets and more at annefontainefoundation.org. Being green never looked so good!
