What to Know About the Believe Survivors Walkout
At 1pm ET/10am PT on Monday September 24, women (and men) across the nation will stand in solidarity with Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez, both of whom have bravely shared their stories of sexual misconduct at the hands of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Participation is simple: you wear black and quite literally “walk out” (of “your home, workplace, classroom, wherever you are”). If you are unable to physically leave your current setting, you are encouraged to share a photo of yourself or your group with the hashtag #BelieveSurvivors.
Though called for by Time’s Up, the movement and legal defense fund supporting victims of sexual harassment, the walk out is sponsored by numerous women’s and social justice organizations, including the #MeToo movement.
Celebrities from every corner of the industry are showing their support for the movement and the strong women leading the revolution.
