InStyle's editorial guidelines Updated on June 18, 2018 @ 10:45PM Pin Share Tweet Email Hate it or love it (and some people really hated it), Meghan Markle’s wedding dress was unforgettable. The Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy design featured an “open bateau” neckline, was stitched together from gorgeous silk organza, and could eventually be plucked for a British royal museum exhibition. No one could possibly get their hands on the custom dress, right? Wrong. At first glance, Tiffany Haddish managed to for the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards, where she matched her big hosting duties with seven costumes (yes, she re-wore her $4,000 Alexander McQueen dress) that included Markle's iconic look. Did she receive permission from the Duchess of Sussex and her new best friend, Queen Elizabeth? Sneak into Kensington Palace? Stich up her own version? Nah. The dress, obviously, isn’t the exact ensemble Markle wore to wed Prince Harry. But c’mon, it looks like it. Just before the show, which aired Monday but was filmed on Saturday, Haddish’s stylist Law Roach gave InStyle the 411 on the Morilee by Madeline Gardner look, explaining that he didn’t simply snap his fingers to find an alternate version. Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic The Best and Boldest Fashion from the MTV Movie & TV Awards Red Carpet “That’s my favorite one. I thought it was easier to find, but it took a little bit of a hunt. Finding something as close to the original as possible was a bit harder than we thought it would be,” Roach said. “It’s gonna be hilarious.” It was funny, but how did he find the one? Perhaps he called Emilia Wickstead? Asked her to borrow the dress she insisted Waight Keller ripped off from her? Wouldn’t have been a bad idea.
