In a new interview with the Daily Mail — where Thomas reveals more intimate details about his daughter's life pre-Prince Harry, including private cards and a wedding invitation from her previous marriage — Markle said he was surprised to hear the reports of a rift between Meghan and Kate. "I don't recognize this person," he told the newspaper. "The Meghan I know was always sweet, kind, generous." ICYMI, The Sun wrote that Kate became angry with Meghan for berating members of her staff ahead of her wedding to Harry — a report that Kensington Palace publicly denied. Meghan's father, a former lighting director in Hollywood, explains that he "taught" her better than that. "Meghan grew up on set, he said. "I taught her to have respect for the crew. They can make you look good or awful." But Markle adds that since their separation, he can't speak to the person she is today: "I don’t pretend to know what she’s like now."
