The Rock and Moana's Auli'i Cravalho Compete in an Eyebrow-Raising Contest—Judged by Lin-Manuel Miranda
Auli'i Cravalho may not be able to beat her Moana co-star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in an arm-wrestling match, but she can defeat him in an eyebrow-raising contest.
"Dwayne and I are here and we have a little bet: that I, being the main character in Moana, can do the People's Eyebrow. And I can do it better than him," Cravalho says, referencing Johnson's signature eyebrow move, in a video posted to Twitter.
"She's very confident. But she thinks she can do my thing—my signature thing—better than me, which is impossible," Dwayne replies.
Cravalho demonstrates her best eyebrow arch for the camera before giving Johnson a chance to defend his signature move.
"That's pretty good. Yeah, you got some arch goin' there," he tells her before moving in towards the camera to show her how it's done. "Oh, yeah. That's sexy. Game over," he determines confidently.
Next 15-year-old Cravalho throws him a curve ball when she asks him if he can raise his other eyebrow. Despite his best efforts, the former WWE heavyweight fails miserably.
"OK, so I can't do both," he admits right as Lin-Manuel Miranda—who's also a contributor to Moana as a composer on the soundtrack—pops in to announce the winner. "The winner is Auli'i! Nailed it!" he cries, adding, "It's always the other eyebrow."
Disney's Moana surfs into theaters Nov. 23. Watch the contest in full in the video above.
