The Blonde Salad's Chiara Ferragni Reveals What She's Gifting This Holiday Season
Chiara Ferragni may have started out as The Blonde Salad, but the social media star isn’t just a fashion blogger anymore. The Italian beauty's resume also includes model, author, fashion collaborator, and creative director. She's been listed in Forbes' '30 Under 30' Art and Culture section, her Instagram follower count at a cool 7.1 million, and she also launched a super successful shoe line, Chiara Ferragni Collection, in 2013, which now also includes clothing and accessories (we love the iPhone covers!). If you don't already recognize her signature "Flirting" eye logo, you definitely will now.
Ferragni's latest venture is coming to SoCal this month with the debut of a pop-up shop at L.A.'s hottest retail destination, The Grove. Just announced on her Instagram, the shop will open on Nov. 19 and run through the holiday season until Jan. 2. "I really wanted it to have kind of the same vision for the collection, so a lot of glitter; very shiny," she tells us of the space. "It’s really going to look like a present—like a gift box. It’s going to be cool."
Speaking of the holidays and gifts—and all the stress that comes with it—we had to know what her top picks are for gifting her family and friends this season. "I think if you want to do something very simple, the iPhone covers are always a nice gift. Or the backpack is also really cool, and it comes in different sizes. Otherwise I would say, if you don’t have any Chiara Ferragni shoes yet I would go for the signature Flirting glitter slippers because they're very comfortable. You don’t need to dress up so much when you wear them."
And finally, the best part about the pop-up was getting a preview of next season's collection. Ferragni's favorite? Her new sandal design. "From the new spring/summer 2017 line, I think the "Star" collection is amazing—we have these star glitter sandals that were my go-to for fashion week; I’ve worn them so many times," she gushes. "I think that’s going to be my favorite one. And it’s perfect for Christmas and the holidays, too, so I think it makes the perfect gift."
Ferragni joins a growing list of designers and celebrities who have brought their collections to The Grove for pop-up installments, including Lauren Conrad's Paper Crown, Jessica Alba's Honest Beauty, and Nicole Richie's House of Harlow 1960. "I love The Grove," she says. "I love going there, especially at Christmastime, so to have my own pop-up during this time of the year is going to be very special."
