This “Thank You Obama” Clothing Line Actually Happened
If you've felt the urge to wear your appreciation for the Obama family on your sleeve, Joe Fresh Goods has provided the perfect opportunity.
The graphic clothing designer recently launched the Thank You Obama line, which features pieces ranging from a No. 44 basketball jersey—a reference to the 44th POTUS, Barack Obama—a Thank You Michelle long-sleeve tee, and a graffiti-inspired white long-sleeve shirt that highlights the couple's wedding date.
"With this project, I wanted to timestamp a period in my life where I felt like I can do whatever I wanted to do and be whatever I wanted to be," Joe Fresh Goods explains on his website. "The night Obama won his first term gave me so much hope, especially and most importantly as a black man. I decided to make a collection saying 'thank you' and give me something to smile at every now and then when I look in the closet."
The line also includes a "Malia" T-shirt that uses the "crimson" color of Harvard University, which the 18-year-old is set to attend in the fall, a plain black hoodie with the "Thank You Obama" mantra, and a T-shirt that has a headshot of the former president, with a crown on his head.
On Friday, the graphic clothing designer one-upped himself by revealing a partnership with Chance the Rapper, who models pieces from the collection in new images.
