Parents: When your little ones cry boredom during chilly winter weekends (or worse: extended school vacations) give ’em something a little different to do.

Surprise Ride, the newly-launched subscription service curates an educational monthly adventure for kids between the ages of 6 and 11. Once you sign up, a box addressed to your child will be shipped to your home on the 6th of every month for a fee of $30, which includes shipping costs. Each month's box contains an activity centered around a theme, like outer space, food, art, or geography.

Sisters and co-founders, Rosy and Donna Khalife, grew up with their artist dad who always encouraged them to do DIY activities. Now, the Khalife sisters are aiming to help busy parents give their own children that same opportunity. And don't get too jealous of the kiddos: Surprise Ride is launching an adult version of their monthly boxes in the new year.
