Taylor Swift is digging deep to help the Louisiana residents impacted by massive flooding.

Heavy rains led to the death of at least 11 people in the state last week and the "Shake It Off" singer told the Associated Press on Tuesday that she would donate $1 million to help the recovery process in the state that so warmly welcomed her when she kicked off the U.S. dates of her tour last year.

"We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home. The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking," Swift said in a statement.

"I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time," the 26-year-old pop star went on to say.

On Tuesday the New York Times reported that 30,000 people had been rescued, and an unknown number of residents remain missing.

Swift isn't the only kindhearted celeb to open her checkbook for the cause. Lady Gaga recently tweeted that she and her family were also planning to donate.
