While she may live behind bars as Piper Chapman on Orange Is the New Black, Taylor Schilling was free to mingle with a public figure the fictional character would perhaps never come close to.

On Friday, the 32-year-old actress took to Instagram to share several photographs from the 2016 Ohio Democratic Party State Dinner. Yes, the actress was on hand to support the party and presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, but she also managed to meet President Barack Obama. Schilling first shared a photo of POTUS on stage and wrote, “strong, principled democratic leadership in action.”

She also shared an image of herself speaking at what appears to be a local rally in Ohio in support of Clinton.

And while it’s clear that the beauty is unafraid to voice her political concerns, she also shared a touching ‘gram of herself with Obama. “Thank you,” she simply wrote as the caption in which the two chat and pose for a photo.

In addition, she also used the social media platform to share an important message. “I’m inspired and enlivened by your passion,” she wrote while addressing local Ohio universities. “And yes you CAN change the world.”
