According to Deadline, a slew of new castmembers for the Gossip Girl reboot have been announced — and one of the OG influencers is in the mix. Tavi Gevinson, who splashed onto the fashion scene when blogging was still just starting out, is part of the cast, though details about exactly who she'll play haven't been released just yet. She posted the announcement on her Instagram feed, saying that she was "SO EXCITED" about the project. Tavi Gevinson on Canadian Tuxedos, Wearing PJs in Public, and Red-Carpet Regrets It's not Gevinson's first time on the small screen. Previously, she appeared in Ryan Murphy's short-lived teen slasher Scream Queens and had a leading role in the film Enough Said. Gevinson has also been on Parenthood and voiced a character in Netflix's anime series Neo Yokio. Most recently, Gevinson had a role in the reboot of The Twilight Zone. Deadline adds that the new Gossip Girl will take place eight years after the show's original run. It'll still follow a group of New York private school teens that live under the watchful eye of Gossip Girl. The original series, which ran for six seasons on the CW, was based on the books by Cecily von Ziegesar. The original team behind the show, including producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, will be returning. Alums Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, and Ed Westwick have not been confirmed, though they have (in some cases) voiced interest in cameo appearances.
