The actress debuted a bright, platinum hair color last night at the Vanity Fair and Fiat Young Hollywood Party, which she pulled back into a loose bun. "I just felt I've been playing this role on this show, and I have a very specific look. Honestly, I just wanted to take a break from that," Manning tells InStyle. "I'm on hiatus [from filming Orange Is the New Black], and I just wanted to be extreme. I'm doing a new role coming up, and I thought that the character would look cool as a white, light bulb blonde." Manning is no stranger to blonde locks, as the actress' hair has been different variations of the shade over the years, beginning when she was in her teens. "I started using Sun In when I was like 13, and that's what started the process," the actress says. From rainbow-hued highlights to majorly blunt bangs, Manning has never been one to shy away from a hair switch-up. "It's fun to change your look," she states.
