Step aside, Bono, there's a new celebrity activist in town.

Suri Cruise made a rare public appearance this weekend at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City's Central Park, all in the name of a good cause. The 9-year-old joined Katie Holmes, on stage, holding her famous mom's hand while she addressed the crowd of thousands. Holmes even coaxed a smile and a wave out of her little girl:

The look-alike mother-daughter duo joined a parade of celebrities (including Beyoncé, Leonardo DiCaprio, First Lady Michelle Obama, and Ed Sheeran) hoping to help win the global fight against poverty.

The two haven't made a public appearance together since they were caught frolicking in confetti at the Teen Choice Awards in March, though the mom recently gave us a glimpse of her daughter in an Instagram post of the two of them hugging, with Suri's face buried in Holmes's neck.
